Conservative dentistry

Conservative dentistry, also called general dentistry, includes the most important services related to proper oral hygiene. Some basic treatments in this field are associated with the prevention of dental caries and treatment of any kinds of cavities. Patients who regularly undergo conservative dentistry effectively strengthen the structure of their teeth and become resistant to bacteria. Conservative dentistry includes both oral prophylaxis itself as well as the actual treatment of caries defects. The purpose of preventive treatments is to effectively avoid the spread of caries by removing scale, which will allow to avoid painful as well as complicated, and above all expensive treatment in the future. The most popular actions in this area include:

  • performing oral and dental check-ups;
  • removing problems related to hypersensitivity and
  • bleeding gums;
  • removing plaque and scale;
  • sandblasting;
  • scaling;
  • polishing;
  • lacquering;
  • cauterization with silver nitrate at children teeth

Conservative dentistry also includes all treatments for dental cavities caused by caries, including:

  • teeth caries treatment
  • filling all kinds of cavities;
  • treatment of post-traumatic permanent teeth;
  • restoration of the dental crown;
  • endodontic treatment, i.e. root canal;
  • oral hygiene.

Prosthetics

Dental prosthetics is a field of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of malocclusion (both congenital and acquired), toothlessness, as well as diseases of the masticatory apparatus. Its purpose is to make up for dental deficiencies, as well as to restore the previously lost dental tissues. Therefore, the discussed field of dentistry uses the knowledge of surgery. You should go to a prosthetist in the case of partial loss of teeth. The prosthetist will then implement actions that will minimize the negative effects of this kind of situation. They will not only improve the appearance of the patient’s teeth, but also allow him or her to chew properly. This in turn has a significant influence on proper digestion. Dental prosthetics also counteracts changes in the oral cavity, which reduces the risk of protrusion of opposing teeth or bone atrophy, which could result in further defects. maxillary, laryngology, oncology, radiology, as well as dermatology.
Most frequently, prosthetic treatment is implemented when it is too late to use ordinary dental treatment. Modern prosthetics; however, is not only about prostheses, but also actions aimed at preventing changes that arise as a result of dental deficiencies.

Microscopic endodontics

Endodontic treatment, commonly known as “root canal treatment,” includes inhibition of disease processes in the root of the tooth by pulp removal, dilatation of the canal, and sealing of the root canal system by the dentist. Infection of the tooth pulp most often occurs in cases of tooth breakage, deep and extensive cavity, repeated treatment of the tooth, tooth fracture. Modern endodontics allows the dentist to accurately diagnose and treat the patient painlessly and accurately. Before and after each procedure, an RVG test is performed. Computed tomography (CBCT) is required in some cases for more detailed analysis and diagnosis.
By working with a high-end surgical microscope, the endodont is able to evaluate the anatomy of the root system of the tooth which is being treated, which guarantees greater effectiveness of the treatment, enabling the cure of teeth previously qualified for removal due to the complicated construction of the root system and the failure of the original treatment caused by a fracture of the root instrument or perforation.

Periodontology

Periodontology refers to periodontal diseases and oral mucosa. The periodontium includes everything that keeps a tooth in the alveolus. These include periodontium, cementum, gingiva, and crestal bone. The area of interest of periodontology includes inflammatory diseases arising in the above-mentioned areas of the oral cavity. The tasks of a periodontist also include prevention, the aim of which is to reduce the risk of the disease and protect against its negative complications for the whole body. Periodontal diseases in which periodontal treatment is used may be demonstrated with the following symptoms:

  • bleeding from the gums, for example after brushing your teeth,
  • dental flutter,
  • unveiling of dental necks,
  • swelling of the gum,
  • gingival hyperaemia
  • teeth sensitivity to high or low temperature,
  • unpleasant breath odour,
  • loss of teeth in severe or untreated cases.

Teeth whitening

…nothing adds more charm than a beautiful, white smile. One of the most popular treatments in the field of aesthetic dentistry is teeth whitening.

At the Bema 4 Dental Centre, we offer two professional methods of whitening treatments.

One of them is the single-session method in the dental surgery, thanks to which you can immediately enjoy a new colour of your teeth.
Each treatment is preceded by a comprehensive dental inspection, in order to identify possible contraindications for whitening, such as caries, enamel defects and inflammation of the gums or periodontium, the condition of the teeth is evaluated for possible discoloration of the enamel or color-mismatched fillings, and then the predicted effects of the treatment are discussed.
The procedure itself is painless and lasts about 50 minutes. The applied whitening gel activates the oxidation processes in the enamel and is enhanced by the light of the Beyond lamp. Thanks to which the teeth change colour.
After the treatment, care recommendations are of high importance in order to enjoy a white smile for as long as possible, and it informs about the need to follow the so-called “white diet” for 7 days, i.e. to eliminate products that contain strong dyes.

The second method, called overlay whitening, consists of taking impressions, creating splints exclusively for you, which are prepared by a dental technician within max 7 days. When receiving the splints, we add whitening gels (in applicators), which, according to detailed instructions, you use on your own at home depending on your needs.
After each use of splints with gel, care recommendations are also important, and it informs about the need to follow the so-called “white diet”, i.e. eliminate products that contain strong dyes.

Prevention

Dental prophylaxis is of great importance in terms of prevention of caries and other oral diseases. Any dental treatment is much more effective if we regularly (at least once a year) visit a dental hygienist in order to:

  • remove tartar (scaling)
  • remove sludge (sandblasting)
  • apply fluoridation that reduces
  • occurrence of caries up to 40%
  • seal both milk teeth and permanent molars
  • have dental check-up

Implantology

Implantology – in what situations will implants work?
Dental implants work well in people with deficiencies in natural dentition caused by:

  • caries,
  • periodontal diseases,
  • mechanical injuries
  • lack of tooth bud or permanent tooth buds.

You should be aware of the fact that implant therapy is currently the most durable, functional and extremely aesthetic way of filling dental deficiencies. The implant implanted in the bone perfectly replaces the natural tooth and retains all the properties even for several decades.

Implantology – how does the appointment go?
Implant treatement is a process that consists of several stages. It requires comprehensive diagnostics and preparation of a detailed plan:

Consultations
The first appointment at the implantologist is a detailed consultation with a specialist.
The doctor interviews the patient, performs a preliminary dental examination, orders specific imaging examinations, plans treatment, and presents the proposed schedule and estimated budget.

Preparatory procedures
Preparatory procedures are required in some patients prior to implantation.
This may include, for example, lifting the floor of the maxillary sinus (in patients with too little bone tissue to implant in the jaw as a result of a low-descending maxillary sinus) or reconstructive procedures for bone tissue that has disappeared.

Implantation
The next step of treatment is implantation.
The procedure is safe, depending on the number of implants planned to be implanted, it lasts from 30 to 60 minutes. After the treatment, follow your doctor’s instructions for oral care. After 7-10 days, the seams are removed.

Implant unveiling
Depending on the implant place (jaw or mandible), implant osteointegration takes 3 to 6 months.
After this time, the implantologist finishes part of the surgical treatment, revealing the implant and installing a healing screw on it.

Prosthetic work
The next stage is prosthetic treatment.
Depending on the number of implants and the type of work planned, the patient should prepare for several appointments. Completion of the treatment is the attachment of a permanent prosthetic filling.

Implantologist – what should be done after treatment?
After implantological treatment, the appearance or functioning of prosthetic reconstruction on the implant does not differ from a natural tooth. Check-up appointments every 6 months or at intervals recommended by the doctor, the patient should go for check-up appointments.

Treatment Plan

Diagnostics

Careful diagnosis is necessary before preparing a treatment plan. It consists of safe tests conducted with the use of modern devices. This is based on radiographs, which image the bone tissues of the oral cavity to various extents and provide the necessary information about their condition.

Treatment plan and estimated budget

After the initial medical history and diagnostics, our expert begins to draw up a treatment plan. It provides a list of all necessary procedures, along with appropriate descriptions of why they are necessary. After presenting the above-mentioned treatment plan, a precise esitimated budget is provided to the Patient so that he/she is aware of all aspects of the procedure, including financial aspects.
